Buck Knives 112 Ranger Folding Knife (Ebony/Brass)

Description

Introduced in 1972, the Buck Knives 112 Ranger is the legendary "little brother" to the iconic 110 Folding Hunter. Created for those who wanted a rugged, reliable folding knife but needed a slightly smaller profile (often to comply with blade length laws of the era), the 112 Ranger offers the exact same bomb-proof construction and classic styling as its larger counterpart, making it a timeless favorite for hunters and everyday carry (EDC) enthusiasts alike.

The heart of the Ranger is a 3-inch clip-point blade crafted from Buck's renowned 420HC stainless steel, enhanced by the exclusive Paul Bos heat treatment for superior edge retention and rust resistance. The handle is a masterpiece of traditional American craftsmanship, featuring heavy-duty brass bolsters paired with beautiful, sustainably sourced Crelicam™ genuine ebony wood scales. Held securely by Buck’s famous lockback mechanism and housed in a premium leather belt sheath, the 112 Ranger is not just a tool; it is a generational heirloom built to tackle the toughest tasks in the field or around the house.

How To Use

  1. Opening: Hold the handle firmly in one hand. Use the thumb and index finger of your other hand to pinch the blade or use your thumbnail in the nail nick to pull the blade open. Continue rotating until the lockback mechanism engages with a distinct, solid "click."

  2. Cutting: Leverage the deep belly of the clip-point blade for slicing or skinning, and use the fine tip for precise detail work or piercing. Always cut away from your body.

  3. Closing: Hold the knife firmly, ensuring your fingers are clear of the blade's closing path. Depress the lock release bar located on the lower spine (back) of the handle. Use your other hand to gently fold the blade safely into the handle.

  4. Maintenance: Keep the pivot point clean and lightly oiled. Wipe the blade clean and dry after use. The solid brass bolsters will naturally tarnish and develop a patina over time; this is normal, but they can be restored to a high shine using a standard brass polish.
