Description
With a legacy dating back to the early 1940s, the Buck Knives 119 Special is a true icon in the world of outdoor cutlery. Originally handcrafted by Hoyt Buck in a two-man shop, this legendary fixed-blade knife has set the standard by which all other hunting and outdoor knives are measured. Whether you are dressing game in the field, setting up a campsite, or looking for a reliable survival tool, the 119 Special delivers unmatched performance and timeless American heritage.
The heart of the 119 Special is its commanding 6-inch clip-point blade, forged from Buck's trusted 420HC stainless steel. Treated with the industry-leading Paul Bos heat treatment process, the blade offers exceptional edge retention, excellent corrosion resistance, and supreme structural strength. The handle is constructed from highly durable black phenolic, contoured for a comfortable, secure grip, and elegantly accented by a polished aluminum guard and pommel. Housed in a premium genuine black leather sheath, the Buck 119 Special is a generational tool built to withstand a lifetime of rugged use.
How To Use
-
Unsheathing: Unsnap the retaining strap on the leather sheath. Grip the handle firmly and pull the knife straight up and out, being careful to keep the blade edge away from your body and the sheath's stitching.
-
Cutting: Leverage the long belly of the blade for smooth, deep slicing strokes. Use the fine clip-point tip for precise detail work, piercing, or skinning. The aluminum guard will keep your hand safely in place.
-
Sheathing: Wipe the blade clean. Carefully guide the blade back into the sheath, ensuring it goes in straight to avoid cutting the leather. Secure the handle by snapping the retaining strap closed.
-
Maintenance: Wash the blade with warm water and mild soap after field use, then dry it completely. Apply a light coat of knife oil to the blade to prevent corrosion. Periodically condition the leather sheath to prevent drying and cracking.
