AustriAlpin D ASYMM Screwlock Steel Carabiner

Description

Engineered in Austria for extreme loads, high-wear rigging, and heavy-duty industrial safety, the AustriAlpin D ASYMM Screwlock (Model TN11AK) is a heavy-duty steel carabiner crafted from high-strength zinc-plated steel. Featuring an asymmetrical D-shape design, it naturally directs loads along the major axis where the carabiner is strongest, delivering an impressive 40 kN minimum breaking strength. Equipped with a manual screwgate locking mechanism, it provides reliable gate security for rigging, heavy abseiling, rescue operations, and personal protective equipment (PPE) anchor points

How To Use

  • Opening & Locking: Spin the threaded screw sleeve downward to release the gate, push open, and insert your rope or anchor. To lock, release the gate and thread the screw sleeve fully upward over the gate nose until tightly secured.

  • Orientation & Loading: Position the carabiner so that the load aligns directly along the strong main spine (major axis). Never load cross-wise against the gate or minor axis.

  • Maintenance & Care: Keep threads clear of dirt, sand, and debris. Clean with warm water, dry thoroughly, and apply a light oil drop to the gate pivot and screw threads periodically.

    Specification
    • Asymmetrical D-Shape Geometry: Directs force loads to the spine for maximum strength efficiency during heavy rigging and rappelling.
    • High-Strength Steel Construction: Crafted from zinc-plated steel for high resistance against physical wear, rope friction, and mechanical stress.
    • Manual Screwlock Security: Classic threaded screw sleeve allows straightforward, reliable gate locking in all environmental conditions.
    • High Load Rating (40 kN): Rated to withstand extreme tensile loads up to 40 kN (~9,000 lbs) on the major axis.
    • Certified PPE Safety Standards: Fully certified under European and international standards EN 12275, EN 362, and UIAA 121.Austrialpin
    • Best Use Cases: Heavy rescue rigging, industrial work at height, ropes courses, heavy abseiling, and PPE anchor systems.
